Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Finally Gets A Launch Date | Motoroids

After much await, Maruti Suzuki is finally launching the Grand Vitara on the 26th of September. The Grand Vitara has garnered over 53000 bookings since the bookings commenced officially on 11th July. The waiting period of the Grand Vitara is expected to be more than 3 months for certain variants going by its strong demand. We can expect the Grand Vitara to be priced close to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is 4345 mm in length, 1645 mm in width, and 1795 mm in height. The wheelbase is rated at 2600 mm. The Hybrid variant offers a dark chrome finished grille whereas the Mild Hybrid gets a standard chrome finish for the front grille. It comes with 3-element LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators and DRLs are seen merged into a chrome strip. The LED headlight is placed lower down below the DRLs. The interior of the Strong Hybrid variants has Black leather with champagne gold accents with a matching stitch pattern for the interior. Whereas the Mild Hybrid variant gets Bordeaux faux leather with Luminant silver accents in the interior.

The passenger side instrument panel offers a leather finish which is also extended to the door pads. The cabin of Grand Vitara comes equipped with a 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ HD infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Other features include Maruti’s Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected car features like remote A/C start, ventilated leather seats, a 7-inch MID,  push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display, 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, and an auto-dimming IRVM.  The rear-seat passengers get A/C vents, USB chargers, and a center armrest. It also comes with a 60:40 split function.

The Grand Vitara gets its power from two petrol motors. The entry-level engine option is a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine with 101 hp and 137 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. It delivers a claimed mileage figure of 21.11 km/l in the manual variant and the automatic variant delivers 20.58 km/l. The Strong Hybrid variant offers a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle engine that produces 92 hp and 122 Nm of torque. and is paired with an electric motor that produces 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque resulting in a total power output of 115 hp. It delivers a claimed mileage of 27.97km/l.
